apologies for the silence, but if i’m being honest, i’ve been enjoying the quiet. getting into the groove of parenthood the first time around was definitely difficult. folks had told us, ‘get sleep while you can!’ ‘sleep when the baby sleeps!’. holy crap were they ever serious, and right! i’m not sure why i didn’t fully grasp the idea of what this sleep exhaustion would be, but the second time around, it feels like an old friendly hat.
Josh. my husband. my other half.
with each year that passes with him by my side, the love that i have for him just keeps getting bigger and deeper. to be in this together with him makes it all less scary. whenever there’s a free moment, i’ve been wanting to spend those moments with him. we (i) made the very wise decision of vacationing alone together (Levi was well looked after by Grandma and Nana) when we found out Harley was on her way. we got an incredible deal on flights to Maui and went camping for a week in Hawaii in April of 2018. then this past March we took the entire month and went camping and road tripping in the states with our family of four. it was an amazing blur of a trip and i absolutely love travelling with him and the kids.
Harley. was born on Sept 26th, 2018. she’s the best. in the photo below she was just one week old. how 7 months have already gone by is a mystery. daily i remind myself that she is my last baby and seeing how quickly Levi turned into a little man, i’m allowing myself the space to breathe and just hang out with my baby. everything else can wait. if you follow my personal account (@beckygean) on instagram you’ll be sure to see plenty of photos and videos of the two monkeys.
photography is still very much a passion of mine, i’m slowing down to spend more time with my family and getting more focused with what i photograph and where i’ll end up taking this creative little studio of mine.
so that’s it! just a little update for everyone. don’t be shy, say hello, and if you have any ideas floating around that involve a need of photography, let me know! we can discuss!
on a completely random side note, have you noticed how easy it is to end up watching an awful movie on Netflix? sometimes i find the ratings to be on point but sometimes i find them to be incredibly wrong. ‘Paddington’ though, oh my goodness, i had no idea a movie about a small bear would bring me so much joy. it’s a must watch if you haven’t seen it. also, i tend to only find time these days for kids movies.
